Abstract
This study is conducted to compare an inferential ability of High-Functioning Autistic disorders with adolescent(HFA) and typically developing children(TC), and which are factors correlated an inferential ability of HFA. This study also qualitatively analyzed HFA¡¯s error responses to inferencing question to investigate of inferencing breakdown. HFA(n=10) and TC(n=10) who matched with langugae age(LA) conducted an inferential task, a syntax comprehension task, a Letter-Number Sequencing task. An inferential ability of HFA is lower than TC and a syntax comprehension task and a Letter-Number Sequencing task, as one of working memory are correlated with an inferential task. HFA showed ¡®wrong inference¡¯ and ¡®odd response¡¯ in an analysis of error responses and it suggest that HFA can perform inferential task but they can¡¯t integrate information to make right inference.
